Massage & Bodywork Therapy
Hey, I’m Rachel. I offer massage and bodywork therapies designed to maximize freedom and minimize pain.
Services
Got goals?
Let’s work toward them together. I offer a variety of services that can be mixed and matched and customized to your needs. See below for service descriptions.
McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release (MSTR)
A modality that works directly with scars so that they become less physically and emotionally burdensome in your body. This therapy will work with your nervous system, circulatory system, lymphatic system, and energetic systems to minimize the effects of your scar. This type of massage is great for any type of scar, old or new, and can also be applied to muscle strains.
Bodywork
A type of massage therapy that releases restricted tissues, either in a dysfunctional or painful area of your body or in a specific muscle group. Have pain in your neck from staring at your computer for too long? Or pain in your hip after tweaking it during your last workout? This type of massage is great at addressing specific issues and helps you develop more freedom in your body.
AromaTouch Technique
Massage of the back and feet that uses 8 essential oils along with gentle touch to create an overall experience of wellness. The oils used were chosen for their individual and combined effects on the physical body and emotions. This type of massage is great at reducing cortisol levels, reducing inflammation, and boosting the immune system.
Swedish
This is the modality most people think of when they hear the term massage. Its hallmark is the long flowing strokes that help your muscles and body relax. This type of massage is great for easing pain and tension, improving circulation, and melting away the stress of your everyday life.
R&R Massage
This is a two hour massage experience that combines Swedish, Bodywork, and AromaTouch all into one. I flow between modalities creating a massage that will refresh your body and mind. This type of massage is great if you want an enthralling experience that will leave you feeling renewed and replenished.
CBD Massage
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound found in the cannabis and hemp plants. It’s not the psychoactive THC that makes you feel “high”. Your body naturally has CBD receptors, most of which live in your nervous system, that’s why CBD is so good at relieving pain, calming inflammation, improving sleep, and soothing anxiety. This add-on is great for anyone who wants a holistic healing addition to their massage.
About Rachel
Hey, I’m Rachel
My journey into massage and bodywork began early on with an interest in anatomy. Our bodies are so beautifully intricate and so adaptable, adjusting to everything we throw at them. I’ve always thought it was so interesting how touch can alter us: we feel relaxed after a good back rub or feel happy when we hug a loved one. I believe that when touch is honed in a positive way it can lead to rejuvenation, physical breakthroughs, and healthy whole people.
I have eczema and struggling my way through that health issue has made me adopt a more holistic approach to health and wellness. It also influences me to approach the treatment room with a large dose of compassion. My goals for my clients are that they feel better, they have less pain, and they develop more freedom in their bodies. I think I’ve had a great session when a client gets off my table and notices a positive change in their body.
I’m interested in pain and pain management, in the structure and function of bodies so I do a lot of bodywork. If relaxation is what you’re after, don’t worry, I do that too. My favorite massage right now is actually a combination of the two, after which you will feel realigned, refreshed, and replenished.
There are so many different things you can do with massage and bodywork, two things I do that you may not have heard of:
- McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release – works directly with scars to minimize their effects on the body
- AromaTouch Technique – a gentle massage utilizing 8 therapeutic essential oils
I hail from the great frozen state of Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes and 10,000,000 mosquitoes! I moved to North Carolina in 2007 after graduating from Bethel University. I spent 11 years working at a desk before going to massage school at the North Carolina School of Advanced Bodywork in 2018. I love being around water, appreciate the arts, and am a bit of an adrenaline junkie. My next adventure: Zip Lining!
I look forward to working with you,
